Invisible Backpacks, Hidden Burdens

story

As Gen Z and Gen Alpha head back to school, they’re facing pressures, questions, and challenges like never before—identity confusion, mental health struggles, loneliness, and a culture pulling them in every direction.

Let’s surround them in collective PRAYERS like this:

You are the God who calls the outsider in, the lonely home, the abandoned beloved.

You say to each soul: “You belong with Me.”

Today, we ask You to plant that truth deep in the hearts of a rising generation.

So many young people are starved for belonging. They walk through school hallways with headphones in—not to listen, but to disappear.

They sit alone in cafeterias, scroll through friend groups that never invited them, audition for teams, or engage with friend circles that never called back.

Even the ones surrounded by people can feel unseen.

Would You meet them there, Jesus?

Meet the girl who believes she has to earn love by changing herself.

Meet the boy who laughs with the crowd but aches alone afterward.

Meet the nonverbal teen whose soul is overflowing, but whose mouth can’t say it.

Meet the kid who’s bounced through five foster homes in three years.

Meet the ones who sleep on couches that aren’t theirs. Whisper to each one: “You belong with Me.”

And raise up spiritual mothers and fathers to speak that same belonging over them— at breakfast tables, on basketball courts, in counseling rooms, on the margins.

Make us the kind of people who make space.
