YFC Launches New Website to Effortlessly Connect More Caring Adults to Young People
DENVER, Colo. – Millions of lost, overlooked young people today find hope and solace in the relationships built with caring adults through Christ-centered communities. Youth For Christ (YFC) knows the desperate and immediate need for more caring adults to help the millions of young people still feeling lost and alone. On July 6th, YFC launched its new website (www.yfc.net) to connect more caring adults – quickly and effortlessly – to young people in need.
According to the CDC, today’s leading cause of death in teens, behind accidental injuries, is suicide. YFC’s faithful caring adult leaders witness firsthand the vulnerability of Generation Z and the attack they are under – spiritually and mentally – from countless influences.
“As ministry leaders, we use a relational approach to break the cycle these students tend to experience,” says Rebekah Cornell, Kern County YFC Campus Life Coordinator. “The pandemic lockdowns made it challenging to direct students to available resources, but we never gave up and sustained connections. Once lockdown restrictions were lifted in areas, we were able to get students the proper help they needed, but only because we kept those relationships active and at the forefront.”
YFC relies on caring adult leaders to reach the thousands of young people ages 11-19 still seeking the hope promised by the love of Jesus Christ. The dedicated work of YFC leaders keeps young people out of prison and away from harmful influences, but there is still work to be done.
“Youth For Christ encourages people to give life to their story,” says Jacob Bland, President and CEO of Youth For Christ. “When we invite God into pivotal moments, we invite Him to uncover His story of Hope in our lives. The new YFC website encourages caring adults to use their story to reach young people across the U.S.”
The new YFC website bridges the gap between adults – who are ready and able to give life to their story – and young people, who are lost and overlooked.
YFC has chapters impacting thousands of communities across the nation that seek out and serve youth from all walks of life. Many teens are silently struggling through a variety of challenging issues—and now they see the living power of a loving God. YFC encourages staff and volunteers to be good news while also sharing the stories of the Good News of Jesus. It involves building relationships through the ups and downs of everyday life in order to lead people to Christ.
YFC has been a pillar of missional ministry since 1944, when the Rev. Billy Graham served as YFC’s first full-time staff member. Since then, Youth For Christ has continued to be both a rural and urban ministry on mission, and it is always about the message of Jesus. YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement. Youth For Christ operates in over 100 nations and has approximately 140 chapters that impact communities across America.
