The position of Vice President of Mission Stewardship is a leadership role within YFC’s VP Team, which is charged with the execution of YFC/USA’s strategy and vision. This role has responsibility for key aspects of organizational management, including Information Management, Data Analytics, Finance, and Facility Management. This role aligns these areas to organizational strategic goals with an emphasis on integrating technical disciplines with ministry philosophy. 

This position requires strategic thinking with exceptional interpersonal skills and is charged with modeling and fostering YFC’s Cultural Attributes across the YFC Movement.   

Essential Functions

VP Team Leadership

  • In partnership with the VP Team, lead the National Service Center (NSC) in the creation and oversight of Charters, Roadmaps, and KPIs
  • In partnership with the VP Team, foster YFC’s Cultural Attributes inside the NSC and across the YFC Movement 
  • Provide Financial Leadership to both direct areas of management and the NSC as a whole 
  • Through operational leadership and voice, champion YFC’s core operating statements/documents including the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Standards of Conduct, and Strategic Plan 

Financial Leadership

  • Align Finance team to organizational strategic goals
  • Through oversight of the Finance team, establish, maintain, and ensure financial controls
  • Lead and equip national leadership in financial management and the budgeting process 
  • Guide the YFC Movement in aspects of sound financial management and stewardship
  • Management of Key Vendor relationships including but not limited to banking and external auditor.

Information Management Leadership 

  •  Align Information Management team to organizational strategic goals.
  • Build a technology posture of responsiveness, service and support to the YFC Movement
  • Create structures that mitigate cyber risk and vendor risk, manage technology-related crisis response 

Data Analytics 

  • Establish an Analytics function that conducts exploratory analysis (identify and gather data) and works with national leadership to craft explanatory analysis (answering “how?” and “why”) in story formatting
  • Working with team to establish, track, and report on YFC Movement and National Service Center (NSC) financial and non-financial KPIs. 

Facilities

  • Oversee YFC/USA facility footprint including the management, sale, and acquisition of new office space

Divisional Leadership

Direct, support and empower the following department and functions:

  • Finance Department
  • Information Management Department
  • Analytics Function
  • Facilities Function

Position Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Accounting/Financial management background with strong grasp on financial statements and budgeting, 5 years minimum experience of financial management leadership. Executive Leadership and Not for Profit Financial experience preferred 
  • Ability to understand/learn multiple technical fields with assistance of subject matter experts for organizational decision making.
  • Experience overseeing complex technology rollouts 
  • Experience creating and managing from KPI’s.
  • Experience in managing team level resourcing/staffing
  • Ability to leverage technical understanding to create and communicate missional value
  • Strong communication skills, communicating and coaching complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leaders
