Position Summary

The job of a Youth Ministry Staff Member requires an individual with the ability to navigate multicultural and socially diverse environments. They need to understand the world of at-risk teens or be willing to learn. They must have an active relationship with Jesus Christ and an ability to share their faith with social sensitivities in various environments. They must demonstrate active spiritual disciplines and embrace YFC’s 5 Essentials, Statement of Faith, and Cultural Attributes. They must be able to develop and manage holistic programming both inside and outside schools or facilities. They must be able to recruit and train volunteers and develop and maintain partnerships with like-minded organizations and churches.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

 

VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND DEVELOPMENT: Staff Members will recruit and involve qualified ministry leaders (volunteers) to build a significant team, seeking high community and church involvement and funding for maximum evangelistic impact.

 

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Staff Members will develop existing programs and create new programs in coordination with ED.

 

DIRECT MINISTRY WITH STUDENTS: Staff Members will lead a team of volunteers to develop authentic Christ-sharing relationships with young people through YFC's Relational Ministry Actions (RMA) Framework.

Requirements:

  •  A follower of Jesus, willing and able to live the Life of a Leader and pursue a deeper relationship with God and within the body of Christ.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred, not required) or equivalent experience
  •  Experience in youth ministry (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and lead teams of adults, volunteers, and student leaders
  • Team player, highly relational, teachable
  • All YFC employees are expected to actively participate in the funding of RRYFC. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donors, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts. Funding goals will be set.
