Position Summary
The Campus Life Director oversees middle and high school ministry in Hampton, IA. This
is a professional position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills,
the ability to work with and through other people, communication skills, a heart for
reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the ability to minister to
youth in evangelism and discipleship within the context of YFC methodology. They
also need to demonstrate commitment to Youth for Christ Statement of Faith, as
outlined in the Personnel Policy.
Widespread Prayer (10%) - We deliberately engage lots of Christians to intercede on behalf
of the ministry site.
- Ensure that this value strategically permeates all values, areas, and actions of your daily ministry.
- Develop a prayer team and communicate to them on a regular basis the needs of the ministry
- Devote yourself to praying for lost teens
Loving Relationships (35%) - We consistently pursue lost kids & engage them in life-long relationships with Jesus
- Campus Life uses six Relational Ministry Actions as it specialized skill set to move Loving Relationships forward. Through a team of caring adults, you will engage in:
- Contacting (Meeting students at the school, local skate park)
- Building Times (Hangouts outside of programming)
- Appointments (One on ones)
- Small Groups (Groups of 4-8 going through small group curriculum)
- Club (Weekly large group gathering through the school year)
Faithful Bible Teaching (10%) - We accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching kids to apply it in their lives.

- Relevant Presentation
Collaborative Community Strategy (10%) - We intentionally work together with local churches, agencies and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry.
- Seek out and develop other like-minded organizations to collaborate with in this ministry (Churches, Businesses, Service Clubs, United Way, etc.)
- Build rapport with the school administration in your ministry site.
Adults Who Empower (20%) - We strategically develop leaders to reach young people from every people group.
- Build and lead teams of Christian adults who are committed to investing in the relational ministry process with lost teens.
- Equip and train your volunteer team, whether directly or indirectly, to ensure they empowered to invest in the relational ministry process.
Additional Duties (15%)
- Complete weekly/monthly reporting requirements
- Weekly Ministry Reports
- Weekly staff meetings
- Weekly meetings with your supervisor
- Monthly expense reports
- Bi-Annual Evaluations
- Complete training assignments/credentialing (as required)
- Participate in community fundraising events (when appropriate)
- Maintain a positive staff support network focused on financially supporting the mission of GIYFC.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred not required)
- Three years of ministry experience (preferred not required)
Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of Greater Iowa Youth For Christ. Each ministry staff member is expected to fundraise an agreed-upon amount or percentage of funding toward their ministry. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
