Position Summary

The Ministry Site Coordinator, under the leadership of the Ministry Director, will be primarily responsible will be the operation of the ministry site and relational ministry with a local middle or high school. This includes stewardship of the ministry center, direct student ministry, development of volunteer teams, community relations, and participation in YFC staff events.

Key areas of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting, training and empowering a team of volunteer ministry leaders who will build Christ Sharing Relationships with lost kids at your site through the use of the Relational Ministry Action’s.
  • Being a leader and example to the ministry leader team in the use of Relational Ministry Actions with young people.
  • Pointing kids to Jesus in all aspect­­­s of your job.
  • Encouraging your ministry leader team in their roles.
  • Work with your Ministry Director and other Site Coordinators in your area to ensure your ministry leaders receive the training they need to be effective ministers.
  • In conjunction with the ministry area and chapter wide training - provide training and coaching as needed for your ministry site
  • Building a strong financial base of support for your YFC ministry site.
  • Being an active part of the YFC staff team. Participate in chapter wide events such as staff meetings, trainings and development events.

Some Campus Life Center specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Drop-In Program Management & Development
    • 3-4 days each week.
  • Food Coordination
    • Coordinate with groups and volunteers who will provide food during Drop-In.
    • Oversee meals/snacks at center.
  • Building Management
    • Oversee general cleanliness of Ministry Center areas
      • Maintain cleanliness in kitchen, bathrooms, and gaming areas.
      • Ensure cleanliness on the outside of the building (garbage, sweeping, basketball areas, etc.).
      • Report any maintenance or repair issues immediately to assess possible solutions
    • Organize donations and gifts made to the center.



Position Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in each of Youth for Christ’s Cultural Attributes (Christ-Centered, Kingdom Inspired Diversity, Joyful Camaraderie, Relentless Trust, Enduring Humility and Courageous Faithfulness)
  • Aware of the needs of young people in your school / community. Ability to build relationships with church, school and civic leaders in the community. Have experience or the ability to learn how to work with young people in a non-Christian setting. Have the desire to see young people come to know Christ as their personal savior.
  • Knowledge of Mac OS, Office Suite, Gmail, box.com, & various online applications.
  • On The Job Training: YFC has several training resources available to our staff. This includes a large online video training library, in-person training several times a year and phone consulting with leaders from across the country.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education:

  • Preferred ministry experience working with middle and/or high school aged young people. Experience leading a team. Must agree and adhere to YFC’s Statement of Faith, Standards of Conduct, and Safety Standards.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel around Kitsap county will be required on a regular basis. As well as some regional trips throughout the year.

Benefits

Pay is $25/hour. Approximately 20 hours per week.
