This position is a subject matter expert in YFC’s legal services. The Legal Services Specialist is a vital member of the legal team, instrumental in policy development, administration of the YFC USA Contract Management Lifecycle, basic legal review and writing, and support for legal and governance functions. This role also facilitates coordination with YFC’s outside legal resources, with a strong emphasis on organization, project management, and accurate governance documentation.
Essential Functions
Legal:
- Manage the Contract Management Lifecycle, including creation, review, negotiation, execution, and renewal of contracts.
- Maintain YFC’s intellectual property portfolio and respond to infringement concerns.
- Maintain legal documents and organize legal SharePoint files.
- Serve as the point of contact for YFC’s outside legal counsel and manage legal vendor relationships.
- Manage the legal email system, ensuring each case is handled in alignment with YFC’s cultural attributes and processes.
- Identify, create, and implement legal resources, policies, and practices.
- Maintain the internal legal resource site on the YFC Hub.
- Lead or support Risk Management and Legal project work as assigned.
- Manage local, state, federal, and miscellaneous annual reporting and subscriptions as assigned.
Governance
- Prepare and maintain all governance-related minutes, including Board, Board committees, COD and other governance bodies.
- Support governance documentation, compliance tracking, and process improvement.
- Assist with governance-related logistics and coordination across departments.
Board Support
- Provide administrative and strategic support for Board Meeting logistics.
- Assist the YFC USA Board and COD with governance tasks, documentation, and compliance needs.
- Prepare executive-level communication and briefings as assigned.

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth For Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth For Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
For Affiliate and Chapter Staff: YFC may attach a minimum fundraising goal to certain projects, activities, departments, or individuals.
Position Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Timely and accurate communication is essential to the success of this position in a remote environment.
- The ability to communicate technical and complicated concepts in non-technical ways.

- Strong understanding of and personal alignment with YFC’s Statement of Faith and Leadership Standards.
- Technologically proficient; experience in Microsoft, Zoom, and Salesforce environments preferred.
Credentials Required & Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of Legal Services/Paralegal experience required
- Prior Risk Management and/or Legal experience in a non-profit environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone, Zoom, and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents.
Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, hand held devices, copy machine, and computer printer.
No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may be required. Good manual dexterity required for the use of computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional Travel; 3-5 trips per year on average (less if based in Denver).
