About Tacoma Area Youth for Christ 

Tacoma Area Youth for Christ is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to reaching  young people and their families with the truth and hope of the gospel. Serving more than 1,600  youth annually across 13 sites throughout Pierce County, TYFC focuses on education persistence,  trauma-informed care, and recidivism reduction while building lifelong relationships rooted in  faith, trust, and hope.  

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and mission leader of the organization,  responsible for the overall health, growth, and long-term sustainability of TYFC’s ministry and  operations.  

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead the overall vision, strategy, and growth of TYFC across multiple ministry sites     
  • Partner closely with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance and strategic  alignment  
  • Oversee organizational planning, financial stewardship, and long-term sustainability  
  • Lead major donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising strategy  
  • Coach and develop the leadership team across operations, development, ministry, and  communications  
  • Serve as the public face of the organization in the Pierce County community   
  • Model Christ-centered leadership and spiritual stewardship

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Senior leadership experience in nonprofit, ministry, church, or mission-driven organizations

  • Experience leading teams, budgets, and board relationships  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in youth development or faith-based nonprofit leadership  
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or donor CRM platforms  
  • Existing Pierce County community relationships

Position Requirements

Role Expectations & Success Profile  

1. Fund Development & Community Partnership 

Lead major donor relationships, fundraising strategy, sponsorships, grant partnerships, annual  campaigns, and community engagement across Pierce County.  

2. Board Leadership & Governance 

Prepare board reports, lead strategic discussions, support committees, partner with the Board  Chair, and participate in annual evaluation and retreat planning.  

3. Leadership Team Management 

Lead director-level leaders across operations, development, ministry, and communications while  driving organizational culture and accountability.  

4. Organizational Strategy & Financial Stewardship 

Own long-term strategic planning, budget oversight, sustainability, and performance metrics.  5. Spiritual & Cultural Leadership 

Model an active Christian faith and lead with prayer, discernment, discipleship, and mission  alignment.  

Leadership Profile 

Executive leadership maturity, proven fundraising success, strong emotional intelligence, servant  leadership, and passion for youth impact.
