Position Summary

The Program Assistant is a position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, and good communication skills. S/he must embrace and work with a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity. S/he will seek to implement relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people within the context of the tutoring center.

Essential Duties

  • Daily cleaning and set up before and after Center Hours
  • Supervise 1st through 5th grade students while Center is open
  • Help organize and lead Holiday events
  • Help supervise and coordinate summer activities for Elementary students.

Position Requirements

Personal

  • Must be 18 Years Old
  • Be Actively growing in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ
  • Maintain the standards of a disciple of Jesus Christ in all aspects of your lifestyle
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with members of the opposite sex
  • Maintain appropriate sexual boundaries that are consistent with the Bible's teachings on abstinence outside of marriage
  • Maintain an appropriate use of alcohol that is consistent with the Bible's teachings on temperance and self-control
  • Be actively involved in the local Church

Youth for Christ/City Life

  • Be faithful and available to fulfill your commitments in YFC/CL ministries
  • Remain committed for the duration of at least one school year
  • Remain accountable to YFC/CL ministry staff and leadership
  • Be faithful in prayer for youth and the YFC/CL ministry
  • Fulfill all required staff training events in addition to attending ongoing training opportunities
  • Must be a team player, able to work well with others
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with all students in order to promote a safe environment for student encouragement and discipleship
  • Immediately report to YFC/CL supervisor any situation where a student is threatening to hurt themmselves or another, where they are being abused in any way, when a student is involved with any illegal activity. Also be prepared to contact appropriate authorities/CPS.

Weekly Center Hours when school is in session (17-19 hours/week):

Monday 1:30-6pm

Tuesday 1:30-6pm

Wednesday 1:30-6pm

Thursday 12:30-5pm

Our schedule varies over Holiday breaks. You are required to work a minimum of 8 hours during school weeklong breaks. You must get your schedule approved by Julie ahead of time.
