Position Purpose
To provide support, coaching, supervision, and management of YFC ministry staff and programs; to support the organization’s strategic plan focus on community engagement, and volunteer and donor recruitment, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
Personal & Spiritual Development
· All YFC employees are expected to:
· Practice discipline of abiding in Christ according to John 15
· Reading leadership, spiritual growth, personal development books, etc.
· Regularly seeking God through prayer & Scripture reading
· Ensure ministry sites & programming model YFC mission, standards, etc.
Team Participation, Meetings, Administration
· Weekly Monday team meetings from 9:30am – 11am, or as needed/directed otherwise
· Other team member connecting as needed to further the mission of Youth for Christ through ministry collaboration
· Guiding and directing department(s) staff and volunteers
· Teach and lead using Scripture, pray with and encourage others
· Work with Executive Director on goals, plans, evaluations of staff and programming
· Work closely with grant related staff and projects to collaborate and ensure projects are moving forward, including assisting on reports
· Planning for and conducting monthly and quarterly meetings are held, including trainings
Staff & Program Oversight
· Provide leadership, prayer, and pastoral care to staff and volunteers as needed
· Coach, lead, guide ministry staff to ensure job descriptions are being executed for each staff
· Conduct semi-annual evaluations, and track HR related issues in partnership with Director of Operations
· Ensure RMAs and any other metrics are being measured and data is collected by staff and presented monthly to Executive Director
· Monitor grant(s) objectives, goals, outcomes working in partnership with Executive Director
· Increasing partnerships with schools, neighborhood, facility, or other connections to reach the total grant goal of youth served
· Incorporating grant programming as a significant component of outreach efforts
· Seek out other strategic opportunities to have as much influence inside and outside of the detention facility, and in relevant neighborhoods
· Conduct site visits and give feedback to staff and volunteers
Mission Advancement
· Present at churches and other like-minded organizations
· Meet with potential volunteers, cast ministry vision, ensure proper placement of volunteers
· Ensure all proper application paperwork and background check processes are followed for all staff who go into facilities, following Leader Journey System guidelines, working in partnership with Director of Operations
· Empower staff and volunteers through regular, ongoing ministry skills training
· Communicate grant opportunities and needs, as well as programmatic offerings, trainings, Youth Council, etc.
· Networking with community organizations and partners, communicating regularly with school, facility or other site staff
Financial Partner Development
· Build a Circle of Influence of 40 contacts
· Update Salesforce data, info, and communications
· Participate in chapter-wide fundraising events
· Weekly and monthly Faithful Activities goals
· Assist in recruiting financial partners to fund the Juvenile Justice Ministries
· Cultivate a ministry mindset toward financial partners
Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees will be given the opportunity to be involved in the Stewardship functions of YFC. These opportunities may include fundraising events, communicating and meeting with circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, and other opportunities as provided.
All YFC staff will live by the following fundraising mantra, with joy and enthusiasm: Love the person. Cast the vision. Communicate the needs.
Part-time basic and part-time plus positions will be included in these opportunities, but will receive direction from their department director or Executive Director regarding any required duties. There are greater expectations from full-time employees.
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
Spiritual Responsibilities
As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:
· Adhere to the beliefs and standards in the YFC Leader Standards code of conduct.
· Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, Scripture from the Holy Bible for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
· Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC, modeling from your own spiritual life
· Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
Additionally, YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA. As such, the following additional responsibilities of a spiritual nature will apply to this position:
· Perform sacramental functions such as the taking of communion and leading times of corporate prayer, confession and praise.
Perform and lead religious ceremonies such as weddings, baptism and funerals when called upon by staff and other members of the YFC community.

Education & Experience
Degree required: *preferred bachelor’s degree
Minimum years in similar role: *preferred minimum of 5

Willing to acquire a minister’s license. Minister’s license obtained: Must be willing to be licensed minister within 3 months of being hired.
Training & Travel
All paid YFC staff will be asked to complete the YFC leadership process which may include One Heart retreats, New Leader Cohorts, National Leadership Conventions, and more.
Local Travel: most travel will be within Stanislaus and Merced counites, and mileage reimbursement will be provided per IRS guidelines
Long-distance travel: possibly 1-2 times per year outside of the state
