GOAL: To advance the mission and vision of Central Ohio Youth for Christ (including affiliates and subsidiaries) by mobilizing staff and volunteer teams to achieve chapter initiatives and goals.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Responsible for leading and growing the City Life Center Middle & After School Ministry, staff and volunteers.

Responsible for attending and supporting COYFC trips and camps. 

Responsible for fulfilling COYFC/City Life team and administrative responsibilities.  

Responsible for fulfilling COYFC spiritual responsibilities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead and Grow City Life Center Middle & After School Programs, Staff and Volunteers

• Serve as on-site lead for the City Life Center Middle School & After School Programs, facilitating program growth to reach increasing numbers of Westside youth.   
• Recruit, coach and supervise staff (meeting weekly) and volunteer teams to increase in maturity and ministry effectiveness, engaging youth in YFC’s Relational Ministry Actions (Club, Bible Studies, etc.), sports, classes and other holistic programming.   
• Learn and become an excellent practitioner and champion of YFCs 5 Essentials, Relational Ministry Actions and Holistic Model.
• Establish win-win partnerships with local schools, churches and community organizations, including leading and facilitating In School Mentoring Groups, or other programming at local middle schools.  
• Serve as a godly role model for youth, engaging them relationally and spiritually.  
• Keep gym and classrooms organized and well-supplied with necessary equipment.  
• Manage data entry and attendance tracking for Middle & After School Program; use data to guide strategic ministry decisions. Generate reports as needed to show growth trends for these sites.  

Help Lead YFC Trips and Camps

• Help recruit volunteers and students to attend Middle School trips/camps. 
• Attend and assist in leading volunteers and students at 2 or more Middle & After School trips/camps per year.   
• Contribute to the larger COYFC effort of increasing quality and impact of yearly trips/camps. 

Fulfill COYFC/City Life Team and Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete all required and ongoing training for the role.
• Support COYFC Leadership Development training efforts by regularly participating in COYFC learning opportunities.  
• Attend/lead City Life Center staff team meetings.
• Work with City Life staff and volunteer teams to handle student discipline promptly and safely.
• Help keep Center clean and operational, and promptly report any building issues to the Facilities Team.
• Manage staff deadlines, times sheets, monthly newsletters and daily email correspondence.  
• Attend quarterly COYFC Staff meetings and monthly Student Ministry Team meetings.
• Support Development Department and chapter-wide fundraising efforts by connecting students and adults to various events throughout the year. Invite a minimum of 4 new guests to See the Story tours or the Be the Story event.  

Spiritual Responsibilities:

Because COYFC and its subsidiaries are a part of the same faith-based organization and share a faith mission and set of values, we require all employees to consistently apply and live according to the religious mission and theological beliefs. Each staff member, regardless of role, is asked to:

• Articulate and uphold COYFC religious beliefs and practices at work and outside of work. Each employee serves to represent the religious message and mission of COYFC (as outlined in the Statement of Faith and Mission) to the broader community.
• Be ready and willing to lead and contribute to distinctly Christian activities such as devotional worship or prayer services.
• Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC
• Regularly share the gospel message with students who come into contact with COYFC ministries
