Position Summary

The Lincoln Intermediate Campus Life Director is a professional position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, communication skills, a heart for reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the ability to minister to youth in evangelism and discipleship within the context of YFC methodology. They also need to demonstrate commitment to Youth for Christ Statement of Faith, as outlined in the Personnel Policy.

Essential Functions 

Widespread Prayer - We deliberately engage lots of Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry site.

  • Ensure that this value strategically permeates all your daily ministry's values, areas, and actions.
  • Add prayer partners to our prayer team and update them on a regular basis on the needs of the ministry
  • Devote yourself to praying for lost teens

Loving Relationships - We consistently pursue lost kids & engage them in life-long relationships with Jesus

  • Responsible for managing, facilitating and serving in the Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)
  • Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs found in the Knowledge Base
  • Establish and develop programming materials
  • Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials

Collaborative Community Strategy - We intentionally work together with local churches, agencies, and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry.

  • Seek out and develop other like-minded organizations to collaborate with in this ministry (Churches, Businesses, Service Clubs, United Way, etc.)
  • Build a report with the school administration on your ministry site.

Adults Who Empower - We strategically develop leaders to reach young people from every people group.  

  • Maintain, Add & Lead teams of Christian adults who are committed to investing in the relational ministry process with lost teens.
  • Equip and train your volunteer team, whether directly or indirectly, to ensure they are empowered to invest in the relational ministry process.

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families and in that regard, to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
  • Model empathy, humility, and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred but not required)
  • Ministry experience

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
