Position Summary

The Campus Life Director role is a position that requires spiritual maturity, relational leadership skills, and the ability to build meaningful connections with high school students and faculty within Staten Island. 

 

The Campus Life Director must embrace and model YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity. 

 

This role will provide weekly pastoral presence through youth services, mentoring, discipleship, leadership development, and family engagement while helping young people grow spiritually, develop strong character, and pursue healthy future pathways through Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships.

 

Essential Functions

Youth Discipleship & Coaching (40%)

·       Lead and facilitate weekly clubs at 3 campuses including biblical teaching, prayer, worship, and fellowship

·       Build Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people connected to the clubs

·       Provide consistent mentorship, discipleship, spiritual guidance, and pastoral support to youth and staff

·       Encourage spiritual growth, healthy decision making, leadership development, and Christ-centered identity formation

·       Create a welcoming and spiritually healthy environment for all participants

 

Relational Ministry Action Development (25%)

·       Develop and implement engaging discipleship, mentoring, and leadership development programming

·       Help connect young people to educational opportunities, college readiness resources, and post–high school pathways

·       Maintain consistent weekly ministry presence and relationship building within the schools 

·       Assist in identifying opportunities for outreach, youth engagement, and family and/or school support

·       Support the implementation of YFC’s 3Story® model and relational ministry philosophy

·       Apply a Design Thinking mindset in daily work, integrating innovation and Christ-centered, human-centered problem-solving into planning, collaboration, and execution. 

 

Ministry Partner & Volunteer Engagement (20%)

·       Work alongside YFC NYC leadership, ministry partners, and school staff to strengthen professional and ministerial relationships 

  • Support, encourage, and help coordinate volunteers serving within the ministry
  • Communicate ministry updates, testimonies, needs, and opportunities with leadership and ministry partners
  • Help cultivate relationships with churches, community leaders, and families connected to the ministry

Ministry Administration & Reporting (10%)

·       Maintain accurate ministry records, attendance, and weekly ministry reporting through YFC systems

·       Assist with ministry scheduling, program coordination, and communication efforts

·       Steward ministry resources responsibly and remain within approved ministry budgets

 

Personal & Spiritual Development (5%)

·       Maintain a healthy and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, Bible study, and Christian community

·       Participate in YFC trainings, staff meetings, and spiritual development opportunities

·       Meet regularly with supervisor for encouragement, accountability, and ministry development discussions

 

Spiritual Responsibilities 

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.  

 

As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:  

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole, as well as for specific ministry initiatives.  
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.  
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.  
  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in words and in the practice of faith expression.  

 

YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts. 

 

Budget Responsibilities

A Budget Manager is responsible for aligning all financial resources to the YFC/USA strategic plan in accordance with the delegation and direction of the Division Head. The Budget Manager is responsible for coding, approval, and financial decision-making for their assigned Division, Department and/or Action Plan budget. When a budget is overfunded or underfunded, the Budget Manager is responsible for course correcting through the MCCR process. 

 

Budget Responsibilities?  Yes. Keep spending within the parameters of the monthly City Life Budget, and submit all expense reports for reimbursement at the end of every month.
