Position Summary

The Campus Life Area Coordinator is responsible for developing, maintaining and managing a vibrant Campus Life ministry site in their area. This role involves building meaningful relationships with volunteers, school staff and students. coordinating Campus Life activities and fostering spiritual growth and community connections.

Position Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Relational Ministry

  • Build authentic relationships with site leaders, volunteers, school staff, community members and students.
  • Schedule monthly meeting with site leader.
  • Schedule and hold four one-on-one coffee hangouts with a volunteer/school staff each month to provide encouragement, training, and accountability.
  • Meet with one mentee weekly for mentorship
  • Recruit new volunteers regularly
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist in ministry activities, ensuring that they are equipped to build relationships with students and provide support.
  • Develop leadership pipelines for student leaders, volunteers, and potential staff to ensure sustainability and growth of the ministry.

Program Leadership

  • Set up and tear down three Campus Life clubs each week, ensuring a welcoming and engaging environment for volunteers to build relationships with students.
  • Capture moments from Campus Life events through photos, videos, and interviews with students, volunteers, teachers, and school administrators.
  • Communicate weekly club lessons to lead volunteers at each site.
  • Help with club lessons and flow of service, including managing check-in.
  • Create opportunities for students to participate in community service projects.

Team Collaboration

  • Attend the one day a week in office staff hours to align ministry efforts with organizational goals.
  • Help with all YFC Houston Events.
  • Monthly one on one meeting with Ministry Director.

Administrative and Planning Tasks

  • Complete Youth for Christ RMA (Relationship Ministry Activities) documentation each month to measure ministry impact and relationships.
  • Plan and execute quarterly events for junior high and high school students, creating opportunities for fun, connection, and spiritual growth.
  • Maintain records of student engagement, decisions, and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare regular reports for Ministry Director, detailing ministry progress, student involvement, and prayer requests.
  • Participate in YFC’s staff development opportunities, conferences, and spiritual retreats to grow professionally and spiritually.

Qualifications

  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with Youth for Christ’s mission and values.
  • Strong relational and communication skills.
  • Experience working with youth and/or in ministry leadership preferred.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging young people in a faith-based context.
  • Proficiency in basic technology, including AV, social media, photography, and video tools.
  • Regularly attend a local Church
  • Must be able to lift over 20lbs

Goals and Expectations

  • Hold 4 coffee hangouts with a volunteer monthly.
  • Build relationships with local school admins and principals.
  • Recruit 1- 3 volunteers each month
  • Set up and tear down Campus Life clubs weekly.
  • Take photos, videos, and interviews at Campus Life activities for promotional and storytelling purposes.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings on the first Tuesday of each month.
  • Complete all YFC RMA documentation each month.
  • Plan and execute quarterly events for junior high and high school students.

  • Regular attendance at a local church. 
  • Able to handle the pressures of ministry and adapt to changing circumstances, including working with diverse groups of students and school environments.
