Position Summary

Position Summary

This is a management support position within Youth for Christ’s social enterprise: Taste of Heaven Gourmet Popcorn Shoppe. Your role is incredibly important to the success of the Taste of Heaven team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks that keep the business growing and successful. 

There will be opportunities to be involved in direct ministry activities, as Taste of Heaven is a ministry site for Kalamazoo Youth for Christ. Building relationships with adult and teen volunteers is a key job function. This position will also oversee youth, developing them in their skills and mentoring them in their work ethic and in life.

Position Requirements

Essential Functions

Administrative Responsibilities:

•Monitor incoming emails to; forward to management accordingly and communicate with customers

•Organize orders and distribute them to the production team

•Manage store partner accounts by creating orders in Shopify and sending orders bi-monthly 

•Process incoming checks for all invoices 

•Create and Print labels for packaging. Keep label cabinet stocked and organized.

•Create and schedule social media posts using Canva

•Keep the website up to date with product selection and pricing

•Shipping and receiving

•Managing inventory and product ordering

•Create shipping labels and communicate with multiple shipping partners (USPS/UPS/FEDEX)

Retail Responsibilities:

•Demonstrating excellent customer service while covering our retail store

•Cash register and cash handling; learning a Point of Service System

•Demonstrating excellent phone skills

•Ability to deal with difficult customers

•Ability to engage with and lead volunteers

•Some lifting required – up to 40 lbs.

•Occasional evenings and weekends

•Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific job responsibilities. 

•Participate in regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC. 

•Model empathy, humility, and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression.

YFC employees have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through

the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for

Christ USA.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education: 

•Must have a passion to drive production, sales, customer service, or customer experience

•Must have a working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and databases

•Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred

•ServeSafe Certification preferred

•Must feel a calling to work with youth

•Must have a good record in working with children and youth; cannot be on the CPS Registry or the Sex Offender Registry
