Position Summary

The vision of the Seattle YFC internship program is to serve as a training ground for young leaders to grow as disciples, gain  valuable experience and education as leaders and be given real  life opportunities to discover and deploy their ministry giftings for  Kingdom ministry to students age 11-19 years old. 

The Seattle YFC Internship Program is a launch pad and sending center for world class ministry leaders in our region and around the world. We want interns to grow spiritually, be equipped as leaders and prepared for a lifetime of living on mission for Christ. With that vision in mind, we seek to equip and empower our interns with the following skills: 

Gospel Grounding

Every intern will have a firm understanding of the Gospel and an ability to articulate the Gospel clearly. In addition, interns will understand how the Gospel informs their walk with Christ and every area of their lives and ministry.  

Engagement with Students & Culture - 

Interns will gain experience and training in learning to engage a diverse population of students and understand how to bring Christ into culture.  

Spiritual Formation - 

Interns will be challenged to grow spiritually through Bible study, theological education, practicing spiritual disciplines, and intentional discipleship. 

Personal & Leadership Development - 

Interns will be given training and opportunity to grow in personal character and life skills as well as leadership principles and experience. 

Hands On Ministry Experience -

Every Intern will be given training and opportunity to serve and make disciples of students. Depending upon the Intern’s Track, the Intern will gain specific mentoring, training and experience in their  

particular field of ministry. 

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.
