Position Summary

Position Summary

As a member of the Project department, you play an important role in Youth For Christ USA’s mission to reach young people everywhere.


In this role, you will have a direct impact on the success of our national strategic efforts. Through relationships you build, you will enhance communication channels for staff and stakeholders. By creating systems and trainings, you will help staff achieve their goals. You will improve operations by researching and implementing new ways of doing things.

Essential Functions

Supporting Projects Department deliverables by partnering with team members in administrative and operational needs. Including:

  • Facilitating efforts to create & maintain department policies & procedures
  • Organize and maintain information systems & repositories
  • Support the planning and preparation of department related events
  • Facilitate National Service Center kitchen snacks, coffee, cleanliness and supplies.
  • Monitor and manage essential email inboxes
  • Support projects and other prioritized tasks as assigned

Aid the Projects Lead in the creation of Smartsheet related trainings, tools, resources and system enhancements that position staff to effectively serve the mission. Including:

  • Collaborate in developing and maintaining Smartsheet related policies & procedures
  • Collaborate, train & mentor users to enhance Smartsheet usage
  • Facilitate the development reporting tools and dashboards to monitor system health
  • Listen to staff feedback and collaborate in crafting solutions to support staff

Support supervisors and managers in maintaining realistic work expectations for NSC staff by providing tools to understand their project-based responsibilities and task-list assignments. Including:

  • Aid in the development of status reports for stakeholders
  • Proactively monitor capacity, working with staff & supervisors to ensure employees have healthy workloads to achieve organizational priorities
  • Work with staff to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviors necessary to become effective and successful contributors to the organization

Create meaningful connections with Projects Department staff, Strategic Alignment Division staff and staff across the organization to support excellent communication and collaboration. Including:

  • Participate in department, divisional and all staff meetings
  • Monitor and motivate stakeholders to ensure needs are being communicated and understood.

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.


As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression.

Additionally, YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA. 

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting a personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts. 

Position Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • You love the mission of Youth For Christ USA and are passionate about our purpose and our story.
  • Proven track record in maintaining easy-to-use systems.
  • Expert technical skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred experience with Smartsheet.
  • Understanding of people and how to motivate, communicate & collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Resourceful, attentive to detail and comfortable offering solutions and clarity where there is ambiguity.
  • Seeks authentic Christ-Centered relationships with people of various backgrounds, and fosters an inviting environment through active listening, inclusion, advocacy for those who are vulnerable, and respect for others’ experiences.
  • A desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced, collaborative environment.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of professional support experience
