Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. Overview
Responsible for assisting in providing meals for campers and staff during camp and retreat programs, preparing meals for special diets, ordering food, and cleaning/ organizing kitchen and appliances. In addition, cooks are responsible for general cleaning and maintaining meal and refrigeration records.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to manage kitchen staff.
Ability to modify meals for special dietary needs
Knowledge of generally accepted, well-balanced nutrition guidelines
Experience with ordering and meal planning
Current First Aid/CPR and Safe Serve certifications
Excellent working skills, including communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Ability to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, injury)
Physical Abilities
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Ability to stand
Work in heat
Hear and listen
Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch
Work with chemicals
Work with noise.
