Position Summary

This position provides high-quality, holistic administrative support for the Capital District Youth For Christ chapter.

  • Maintains compliance with all organizational deadlines
  • Adheres to consistent administrative practices and works cooperatively according to capacity
  • Support systems maintenance as needed
  • Detailed financial reviews as needed
  • Support projects or tasks as assigned
  • Contribute to board meetings by assisting in preparing agendas, pre-read materials, reports
  • Assist with tracking spending throughout the fiscal year and identify variances in predetermined budget
  • Provide monthly income/expense reports to staff
  • Responsible for Month End, Quarter End, Calendar Year End and Fiscal Year End reports
  • Bookkeeping/Accounting tasks including accounts payable, bank reconciliation, bank deposits
  • Handle on-boarding process and prepare new employee files
  • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll
  • Ensure compliance of all personnel information and paperwork, including managing personnel record retention and annual paperwork
  • Oversee the administration of all group benefit plans according to YFC policies and procedures, plan documentation, contractual arrangements, and regulatory requirements

As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.

Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.

Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.

Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. 

YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA. 

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.

Position Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • Administrative/Human Resource/Bookkeeping experience required.
  • Work with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
  • Must keep detailed records at all times and develop a highly efficient electronic and paper filing system.
  • Must be comfortable learning and utilizing YFC's Salesforce CRM technology on a daily basis.
  • Work on any special projects as requested with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize.
  • Relationally driven with natural ability to grow and maintain relationships with significant and influential individuals both internally and externally.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to problem solve, focus and analyze situations and data in the face of conflicting priorities and multiple demands while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to listen well, follow directions and work collaboratively with colleagues across many departments and ministries.
  • Self-initiated ability to analyze and improve on operations.
  • Must be comfortable with a high frequency of electronic communication.
  • Must have intermediate/advanced typing and computer skills including: Outlook, Excel, Word, Quick Books On-Line, and general internet knowledge.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

  • Associates degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in an office environment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in accounting/bookkeeping
  • Minimum 1 year experiences in human resources
