Position Summary

Working directly under while complimenting the Executive Director and serving as a key part of the leadership team, the Campus Life Director (CLD) is responsible for overseeing and developing Campus Life ministry at one or more Campus Life sites, as well as developing and engaging community support of the YFC Mission.  This includes oversight of ministry sites, shepherding through the supervision of the ministry staff and their leadership development, resourcing the staff as they implement effective ministry, development of future ministry sites, community collaboration and fund development.

Guided by the 5 Essentials and implementing Relational Ministry Actions, the CLD is accountable to the Executive Director and Ministry Director. The 5 Essentials are targets of faithfulness to be practiced at each YFC ministry site so that the Spirit of God may favor the ministry with fruitfulness and sustainability.

Essential Functions

Ministry Health & Growth

  • Lead and equip like-minded partners to engage in authentic, Christ-sharing relationships with students.
  • Responsible for recruitment and leadership of volunteers in the ministry, participating in the development and maintenance of a financial support network, and ministry outreach to 11-19 year old kids in Glenwood Springs.
  • Lead staff meetings and ministry communication to unify team and ministry efforts.
  • Perform essential duties as assigned.

3. Faithful Bible Teaching - We accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching kids to apply it in their lives. Must have/provide:

4. Collaborative Community Strategy - We intentionally work together with local churches, agencies and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry.

5. Adults Who Empower - We strategically develop leaders to reach young people from every people group, therefore must:

  • Exemplify godly lifestyles
  • Model cultural competence
  • Nurture indigenous leadership

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

  • Ministry Credential
  • Must complete their YFC Leadership Blueprint within 2 years of hire and upon completion, will be awarded a YFC/USA Ministry Credential

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
