Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer and support employee compensation and benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Assist with salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and internal equity reviews to ensure competitive and fair pay practices.
- Participate in annual compensation review process, including merit increases and incentive pay programs.
- Manage benefit enrollment processes and support open enrollment.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
- Maintain compliance with benefit-related laws and regulations (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, etc.)
- Offer educational opportunities for employees to learn about the benefits provided by YFC and our partners.
- Support employee onboarding by conducting meetings with new hires to discuss YFC benefit programs and payroll.
- Assist with offboarding tasks, including final pay, COBRA notices, and exit benefit reviews.
- Coordinate vendor relationships for benefits and payroll services.
- Oversee LOA and ensure compliance with state and federal LOA requirements.
- Contribute to employee engagement and recognition programs, such as service awards or wellness initiatives.
Payroll
- Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner, in coordination with the HR and Accounting team.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage/hour laws.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
- Collaborate with HRIS/payroll provider (Paychex) to manage system updates and troubleshoot issues.
- Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 process and tax reporting
- Maintain YFC payroll calendar.
- Assist in policy creation surrounding total rewards, compensation, and payroll.
- Support HR audits or respond to requests for documentation from internal or external auditors.
- Assist with employee communications surrounding pay, benefits, or policy changes.
- Oversee state unemployment.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Prepare and analyze compensation, benefits, and payroll reports for internal stakeholders.
- Track and report on HR metrics related to total rewards and payroll accuracy
- Recommend improvements based on data insights and best practices
Other duties:
- Participate in cross-functional HR projects.
- Provide HR backup support to team members during absences or high-volume periods.
- Other duties as assigned.

Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.

- Comprehensive understanding of compensation, benefits, and payroll principles, including federal and state regulations (FLSA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.)
- Proficiency with payroll systems and HRIS platforms (preferably Paychex), including data entry, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing data and handling sensitive information

- Collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships and contributes to a supportive Christ-centered team culture.
Credentials Required & Preferred Education
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3+ years of experience in HR with specific experience in payroll and/or total rewards preferred
- Experience working with a ministry or nonprofit is a plus
- Preferred experience working in a multi-state payroll environment
- SHRM – CP/SHRM – SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common.
Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for day-to-day conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, handheld devices, copy machine, and computer printer.
No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may be required. Good manual dexterity required for the use of computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal.

Travel required, up to 3 times per year.
