Position Summary

PURPOSE

Responsible for serving a variety of appetizing and healthy meals/snacks for our City Life family (students, volunteers, staff) – at the center after school/special events/volunteer training meetings/and other aspects requiring food/snacks. The Food Ministry Coordinator will manage the food budget and collaborate with various partners to utilize food options available to this ministry. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate shopping, cooking, and serving quality food, in excellence for the allocated ministry sites
  • Organize and manage ongoing inventory of Cafe needs, with ideas to expand offerings. (i.e. classes, workshops, small groups)
  • Wise stewardship of the food ministry budget
  • Recruit adult and student leaders, as needed to assist with food coordination efforts (i.e. service team, student interns, etc.)
  • Responsible for keeping kitchen organized and up to sanitary/functioning code (i.e. safe storage, cooking temps, cleanliness)

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage lifelong disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

  • As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
