The Executive Director serves a pivotal role in the advancement of the mission of YFC. This position requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, as well as strong communication, management, and persuasion skills. S/he must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity. S/he is a strategist who can lead, inspire and is responsible for the execution of the vision of Youth For Christ in her/his community. S/he is a team and ministry developer who recruits, inspires and equips staff and volunteers to reach kids in authentic Christ-sharing relationships with lost young people in their community. S/he is a resource curator who both raises and stewards the financial resources of the chapter.

Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:
YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by YFC USA.
Fundraising Responsibilities
[As the leader of a YFC Launch Chapter, you are responsible to meet fundraising goals and maintain a predetermined account balance for your chapter. This includes developing and implementing a development plan as indicated above which is consummate with the overall objectives of the annual budget(s). All fundraising activities, donor development and events must follow YFC USA’s policies and procedures.]
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
BOARD DEVELOPMENT. The director will work in partnership with the Tulare-Kings Counties YFC Board to insure that there is continual development of the board membership as an effective governing body.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. The director will lead the staff through recruitment, training, development, placement, supervision and encouragement to carry out the work of the ministry.
MINISTRY. The director will develop and carry out Youth for Christ ministries within the community to a growing number of young people and ministry sites.
i. Campus Life (Youth Center and Student Campus Clubs)
ii. City Life (Mentoring Programs with School Districts)
iii. Parent Life (Hanford)
iv. Juvenile Justice Ministries (Kings County Juvenile Hall)
i. Write Annual MOU Contracts for District Approval
ii. Regular meetings with Admin and District staff to insure expectations are being met.
iii. Attend School Board Meetings as needed
iv. Recruit and manage staff teams with leadership from Team Leaders for each school district.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS. The director will be an advocate for young people and youth evangelism, will maintain visibility for YFC, and will relate YFC ministry to people, leaders, churches and organizations within the community.
