Position Summary

Position Goal: To advance the mission of Central Ohio Youth for Christ by creating and sustaining champions of the ministry. This is accomplished by helping with the planning, coordinating, and executing of transformational events that highlight how God changes the lives of students we serve.

Key Objectives

  • Responsible to assist with all annual development events: STS Tours, Be the Story (BTS), Over the Edge (OTE) Youth Guidance Golf Marathon (YGGM).
  • Help create and execute new Micro Events to engage new donors and volunteers
  • Responsible to assist with donor and volunteer data management and other special projects assigned by the Development Director and Events Manager

Specific Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

See the Story (monthly) & Be the Story Event (May, 2023)

  • Assist with recruitment, training, communication and appreciation of Table Captains (new and returning).
  • Ensure all print media and supplies are available for STS tours
  • Create content for a monthly newsletter to communication with table captains
  • Ensure pre/post STS/BTS SOP’s are followed for registration and follow up


Over the Edge (June, 2023)

  • Assist with all communications (social media/calls/emails/texts) & other creative strategies to recruit new & returning rappellers and volunteers
  • Create content for Edger Newsletter to communicate with sponsors, rappellers and volunteers
  • Coordinate day-of and post event logistics including: food & equipment pickups, deliveries, set-up & clean up of “Stations” materials and special guest/mascots
  • Attend committee meetings as needed

Micro Events

  • Participate in the creation and execution of new micro events to help new donors and volunteers more deeply engage with our mission. 

Youth Guidance Golf Marathon (Sept 2023)

  • Assist golfers to set up Fund-raising pages and manage off-line donations
  • Assist with company sponsorships/logo management on website

Development Team Responsibilities

  • Attend Monthly Development Team Meetings & Quarterly COYFC All-Staff meetings
  • Represent COYFC at other potential community events as needed

Data Management

  • Enter all relevant event data in DP following established SOPs
  • Update or create new Event SOP’s to continually improve and streamline execution of events and data management

Spiritual Responsibilities:

Because COYFC, its affiliates and subsidiaries are a part of the same faith-based organization and share a faith mission and set of values, we require all employees to consistently apply and live according to the religious mission and theological beliefs. Each staff member, regardless of role, is asked to:

  • Articulate and uphold COYFC religious beliefs and practices at work and outside of work.
  • Each employee serves to represent the religious message and mission of COYFC (as outlined in the Statement of Faith and Mission) to the broader community.
  • Regularly pray for and share spiritual content with existing and prospective donors to COYFC

Position Requirements

Skill Requirements:

  • Attention to detail and timeliness
  • Ability to work beyond 20 hours around event dates. Other weeks will be less than 15 hrs to accommodate this requirement.
  • Experience in event coordination preferred
  • Accommodating and flexible disposition with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as contribute to a team environment
  • Exhibit passion for the mission of YFC; agreement with Statement of Faith and Conduct
