Position Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for managing and growing the community presence of Youth for Christ Houston. This role involves curating and creating content, fostering community engagement across social platforms, and building relationships with local churches and businesses to support YFC's mission. The ideal candidate is a master communicator creative, organized, and passionate about engaging others in a faith-based movement.

This is a part-time position requiring 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Key Responsibilities 

Content Creation and Management 

· Gather information from Ministry Site Directors and the YFC Houston team to keep the website and other online platforms up to date. 

· Create and schedule content for all YFC Houston social media platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and branding. 

· Design and distribute a monthly email newsletter and a quarterly magazine to communicate updates, stories, and events to supporters and partners. 

Community Engagement 

· Actively engage with the community on social media, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. 

· Create marketing resources to explain and to promote YFC Houston. 

Team Collaboration and Events 

· Attend the monthly staff member meeting on the first Tuesday of every month to align communication strategies with organizational goals. 

· Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of YFC Houston events as needed. 

Goals and Expectations 

· Post regularly on all YFC Houston social media platforms, maintaining an active and engaging presence. 

· Create and distribute a monthly email newsletter and a quarterly magazine with compelling content and updates. 

· Help foster new partnerships with churches and local businesses, developing relationships through promoting resources. 

· Ensure the YFC Houston website and other online platforms are updated with relevant information regularly. 

· Attend monthly staff meetings and actively contribute to organizational planning and vision. 

· Assist in event planning and execution, contributing to their success. 

· Post daily on all social media platforms 

· Attend 1 Campus Life club per month 

· Create YFC Houston Branding materials 

· 1 mentee mentorship (weekly) 

· Attend 1 partnership meeting per month 

· One on One meeting with Executive Director monthly

Position Requirements

Qualifications 

· A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with Youth for Christ’s mission and values. 

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

· Experience managing social media platforms and creating content. 

· Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe, or equivalent). 

· Proficiency in email marketing tools (Sharp Spring) and website management platforms. 

· Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities. 

· Willingness to collaborate with a team and engage with the community.
