Position Summary

Position Summary

The purpose of the Communications Specialist is to consistently and frequently tell the story of Denver YFC in a compelling and engaging way. S/he will create a library of well-cultivated, high-quality images and content for social media, mailings, video presentations, and print publications of Denver YFC. S/he is instrumental in assuring we have the funding and manpower to reach kids with authentic, Christ-sharing relationships and the Gospel. The Communications Specialist is responsible for results and oversight of mailings, website content, and additional YFC public materials.

Essential Functions

Daily Duties

Update DAYFC website and social media with any relevant changes or information
Edit & catalog media for YFC publications, including (but not limited to) photos, video clips, background images, and logos.
Edit & approve special publications (such as brochures or flyers) for ministry staff.
Respond to social media activity for Executive Director and the Denver YFC accounts.

Weekly Duties

Complete photo and video assignments as determined by the Executive Leadership and Development teams
Schedule social media posts for the Executive Director and the public Denver YFC accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
Send a summary of posts and content to staff each week for reposting purposes.

Monthly Duties

Attend Supervisory meeting with Supervisor
Represent YFC at events as needed
Edit visual content of emails and mailings.
Create visual layouts for brochures and flyers for volunteers, events, and other YFC events/programs.
Make staff aware (through meetings or other means) of any new content they can use.
Collect stories from staff for social media, mailings, and the website.
Update the YFC website with relevant information, including blog posts
Edit staff prayer letter content, print and prepare mailings.

Position Requirements

Must be proficient in creating and editing media content, preferably using Adobe Creative Suite
