The Central Iowa Regional Director exists to advance the mission of Greater Iowa Youth For Christ in the Central Iowa region by providing leadership in the areas of vision, advocacy, development, community relations, and ministry expansion. Qualified candidates will be creative thinkers and determined builders with a self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit. They must be skilled in organizational leadership, possess strong relational, development, and communication skills, and be adept at laying the groundwork for new ministry start-ups. This role will steward an extensive network of interpersonal relationships, both virtually and in person, for the sake of multiplying authentic Christ sharing relationships with 11-19 year olds.
Essential Functions
15% Strategic Leadership
Responsible for providing spiritual and organizational leadership for the advancement of the YFC mission across the Central Iowa region. This includes:
· Personally abiding in Christ and leading out of a posture of humility and servanthood
· Developing a clear, practical, and inspiring vision for the region
· Contributing to the strategic planning efforts of the chapter
· Determining Central Iowa priorities in the annual planning cycle and ensuring the communication and execution of those priorities
· Influencing healthy culture among the Central Iowa staff
· Serving as an excellent communicator who is capable of being the ‘face’ for ministry sites in Des Moines and the Central Iowa area.
· Cultivating collaborative partnerships with churches, organizations, businesses, and colleges (working with local staff as appropriate)
· Serving on the GIYFC Executive Leadership Team
50% Development
Responsible for ensuring the financial health for the region by executing the GIYFC development plan in both existing and new ministry centers, in partnership with staff. This includes:
· Working with the executive director to develop, manage, and monitor a comprehensive annual fundraising plan for the region
· Building and managing a personal portfolio of ministry partner relationships
· Expanding the giving base by conducting appointments and other development activities with existing and prospective ministry partners
25% Community Engagement and Ministry Expansion
Responsible for serving as an advocate for lost teens and the issues they face, inspiring people to action for the sake of ministry growth. This includes:
· Serving as the senior point of contact for communities represented in Central Iowa
· Providing leadership to Community Support Teams to enhance ministry centers/sites
· Effectively communicating the mission and vision of GIYFC to groups of all sizes, creating pathways for involvement
· Working with staff to recruit new volunteers to serve in the mission
· Building key relationships and networks to allow for future ministry expansion
· Providing leadership to the ministry expansion process for new sites across Central Iowa
· Participating in community activities and strategic groups to introduce and represent YFC to new and existing partners
10% Operational Management and Administration
Responsible for managing the administrative operations of ministry throughout the Central Iowa region in partnership with the GIYFC operations team. This includes:
· Providing oversight of and management to the regional budget
· Assisting with asset management (Facility and transportation)
· Planning and preparing for meetings
· Managing projects, schedules, and on-going administrative tasks
· Completing weekly, monthly, and annual reporting requirements
· Participating in staff meetings, supervisor appointments, retreats, and conferences
· Interfacing with the GIYFC board when appropriate
· Completing training assignments and YFC credentialing
Spiritual Responsibilities
.Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate, and encourage life-long disciples of Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

Primary and Secondary Steward Responsibilities
Employees may be assigned a Primary Steward of any of the following: Volunteer(s), Donor(s), Vendor(s), Chapter(s), Processes, Standards and Best Practices (PSBPs). All Employees are assigned the role of Secondary Steward, which plays a supporting role to the Primary Steward to serve a chapter in a specific way, for a specific timeframe as determined by the Primary Steward. Secondary Stewards can be assigned to focus on specific management issues like YFC compliance, legal, risk, strategic planning, fund development coaching, staff development coaching, new ministry site development, process stewardship or a variety of other equipping roles.
Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
