Position Summary

The Campus Life Ministry Site Director is responsible for overseeing and developing Campus Life ministry at one or more Campus Life sites. The goal is reaching un-churched, unreached students in their high school and middle school.

The Campus Life Ministry Site Director is a position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, and strong communication skills. S/he must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity. S/he will seek to implement relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people within the context of their YFC ministry model.

Essential Functions

Goal: Ministry Leaders- The Site Director will recruit and involve qualified people in order to build a team of (volunteer) ministry leaders (adult and student), seeking high levels of community and church involvement and funding for maximum evangelistic impact.

Performance Standards:

  • Recruit, screen and train qualified (volunteer) ministry leaders (adult and student) to foster authentic Christ-sharing relationships with unchurched, non-Christian students, ages 11 to 19, so that there is at least 1 ministry leader for every 5 involved students.
  • Ensure the highest level of compliance and accountability with YFC/USA volunteer standards and procedures.

Goal: Funding - The site director will be responsible for contributing to the overall Campus Life budget, to include but not limited to personal support account, ministry sites, special events, ministry leader training, recruiting, and ministry leader care accounts. They will maintain an attitude of raising funds for the mission and continued growth of the entire Denver Area Youth For Christ team. Performance Standards:

  • Create ministry sustainability by achieving 80% local funding for each ministry site.
  • At least 20% of weekly ministry focused on fundraising with individuals, churches and community groups.
  • Involve ministry leaders as financial partners and Champions of Campus Life ministry.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and management of financial partners, employing high levels of creative, personal donor communication and care.

Goal: Youth Evangelism - The Site Director will facilitate evangelistic opportunities throughout the year as well as create and manage strategic evangelistic ministry events in order to see as many students as possible have the opportunity to make an informed decision as to faith in Jesus Christ.

Performance Standards:

  • Train and exhort ministry leaders and staff to constantly deepen their authentic Christ-sharing relationships and to seek opportunity to “Ask the question” with their students.
  • Develop partnerships with local churches in order to facilitate integration of newly saved students into a church community.
  • Ensure that all events meet the goal of presenting the gospel to unchurched, unsaved youth.
  • Ensure that all events are fully funded, adhering to DAYFC budgeting standards and that all event funds are properly accounted for.

Goal: Team - The Site Director will be the example of the highest level of team interdependence and accountability. (See Stewardship Manual/Employee Handbook)

Performance Standards:

  • Lead in spiritual growth, attitude, accountability and team relationships in order to foster the greatest possible team unity, both within Campus Life and throughout DAYFC.
  • Ensure excellence in administrative details i.e. agreements, contracts, accounting, donor care, Impact reporting, ministry leaders, financial partners etc.
  • Foster healing and forgiveness through Biblical handling of conflict.
  • Maintain the highest level of trust and integrity in all aspects of leadership, staff relationships, ministry and community involvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervision - Reports to the Director of Campus Life Ministries. Brings expertise, and creativity to the overall Campus Life ministry strategy of Denver Area Youth For Christ.
  • Marketing & PR - Intentionally and specifically seeks out and maximizes opportunities to make the public aware of the ministry of DAYFC through social media, public speaking opportunities, community organizations and general media.
  • DAYFC General - Leads and/or participates in DAYFC events, ministries and activities as assigned.

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

  • Able to shepherd individual leaders.
  • Have knowledge of all facets of Campus Life Ministry.
  • Skilled in problem solving.
  • Be able to raise significant funds both through personal support as well as community support.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

  • 1-2 or more years of direct ministry experience

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
