Position Summary

This position will run Campus Life at multiple sites. Campus Life ministers to lost students at local high schools and middle schools. The Site Director will: develop a team of volunteers who will challenge students with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ in a way that is real, relevant, and responsible; disciple student-leaders in peer-to-peer ministry and relational ministry actions within Club; and faithfully execute the Relational Ministry Actions (Contacting, Building Times, Club, Appointments, Small Groups, and Student Leadership) and the Five Essentials of Fruitful and Sustainable Ministry Sites.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Within the scope of the Campus Life ministry, ensure that:

  • Clubs and events regularly provide students with the opportunity to make an informed decision about becoming a follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Leaders are recruited, trained, equipped, challenged, supervised, and encouraged as team members (1 leader per 7 kids). Leaders are oriented to the mission of Youth For Christ.
  • There is regular and ongoing contact with students through each ministry site.
  • The Relational Ministry Actions and the 5 Essentials guide ministry effectiveness.
  • Students are linked to local church youth ministries.
  • All details for the Campus Life programming are attended to, including but not limited to: planning of Club and programmed activities, meeting with students, parents, and teachers, following all school rules and acquiring permissions, supervising and training volunteers, developing, submitting and managing a program budget, establishing ministry goals and objectives.
  • Develop and foster mutual partnerships with like-minded adults like parents, school administrators and educators, pastors and church leaders, other non-profits, and business community members.
  • Meet weekly with their supervisor and prepare and submit regular ministry reports as requested.

General Staff Expectations:

  • Maintain a vital and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrate that relationship through a morally upstanding lifestyle that is in keeping with biblical principles (see YFC Lifestyle Standards).
  • Demonstrate involvement in a local church through regular attendance, relationships with other members, and participation in ministry programs and events.
  • Fully embrace the Youth For Christ vision and mission, and statement of faith (see https://yfcnow.org/about/our-story/).
  • Carry out the agreed-upon work schedule, communicating variations in advance.
  • Attend staff meetings, events, and retreats.
  • Fulfill ministry fundraising expectations (sending quarterly Support Letters, seeking in-kind donations, asking for support for the ministry directly, and participating in every “all-staff” ministry or fundraising event unless excused by the Executive Director, etc).
  • Help maintain a safe and clean physical work environment.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Abilities, and Minimum Requirements:

  • Motivated self-starter
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
  • Ability to share the gospel with lost youth.
  • Demonstrated passion for discipleship and evangelism.
  • Demonstrated ability to honor the diversity of gifts, work styles, and temperaments.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use Windows, Microsoft Office program suite, and online applications.
  • Portions of this job will require the employee to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Spiritual gifts of importance to this position include leadership, administration, evangelism, and shepherding.

Working Relationships

  • Responsible directly to the Ministry Director.
  • Supervises volunteers.
  • Interacts with all F/M YFC staff and volunteers.

  • Hourly rate determined by a pay scale and Executive Director.
