Position Summary

Position Purpose:

  • Direct ministry in the local middle school and with middle schoolers by fostering the following five essentials:
  • Widespread Prayer
  • Loving Relationships
  • Faithful Bible Teaching
  • Collaborative Community Strategy
  • Adults Who Empower

Key Objectives:

Deliberately engage with many Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry site-prayer must strategically permeate all values, areas, and actions of your daily ministry.

Consistently pursue middle schoolers and engage them in life-long relationships with Jesus using the following seven Relational Ministry Actions which are Campus Life’s Specialized skill set to move loving relationships forward:

  • Appointments
  • Building times
  • Contacting
  • Clubs
  • Small Groups
  • Student Leadership
  • Summer Youth Camps

Accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching High Schoolers to apply it in the lives. Focus on competent preparation and relevant presentation.

Intentionally work together with local churches, agencies, and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry

Strategically develop leaders to reach young people from every people group. Campus Life staff build and lead teams of Christian adults (and students) who are committed to investing in the relational ministry process with lost teens.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

Camp: Residential and Wilderness Camping Ministry

  • South Central Minnesota Youth For Christ owns and operates Prairie River Camp—www.prairierivercamp.org An important part of this job is to be an active participant in planning and executing three weeks of summer camps.

Office Work Daily:

  • Check e-mail
  • Respond to phone calls
  • Plan your schedule

Weekly:

  • New student information for your use
  • Plan out Middle School Ministry
  • Meet with Ministry Director

Monthly:

  • Monthly ministry reports
  • Monthly receipt letters
  • Monthly support letters

Quarterly:

  • Newsletter Information

Supervision:

  • Youth For Christ Impact online reporting-weekly
  • Contact with supervisor-weekly
  • Attend weekly South Central Minnesota Youth For Christ ministry staff meeting
  • Evaluation yearly

Funding Responsibilities:

  • Participate in community fundraising events ( only when appropriate)
  • Maintain positive budget account and write a periodic support letter

Training:

Attend training events if possible

Education & Experience: 2+ years

Fundraising Responsibilities:

All Youth For Christ regular full time employees will be given the opportunity to be involved in the Stewardship functions of South Central Minnesota Youth For Christ (hereafter SCMYFC, or YFC.) These opportunities could include fund raising events, circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, and other opportunities as provided.
