Position Summary

Youth For Christ Vision:

As a part of the body of Christ, the vision of Youth For Christ is to see every young person in every people group in every nation have the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and to become a part of a local church.

Position Summary:

‘In partnership with Youth For Christ (YFC) Juvenile Justice Ministry (JJM) will develop a relationship with the youth agencies for the purpose of fulfilling the YFC vision and mission inside the various agencies as well as when the youth transition into the community. This position has two different elements that work together: 1) Aftercare Coordinator that works with both Madera Juvenile Hall and Fresno Juvenile Justice Campus, and 2) Group Life Site Director, focusing on group homes that receive youth recently released from a juvenile justice facility.

Job Focus: 

Recruit and empower volunteers in order to maintain the health and growth of the Aftercare Strategy for the JJM Team. Specifically, recruiting volunteers who are partnered in a mentor relationship with a youth who has recently been released from a juvenile justice facility.

JJM Ministry Team Job Descriptions Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop prayer team and provide regular updates
  • Develop and grow personal spiritual health
  • Engage in local chapter responsibilities, duties, and activities
  • Establish relationship with County, State, or private youth agencies
  • Recruit, Training, and Maintain ministry leaders with a variety of gift sets and involvement
  • Create a strong connection between local church and ministry site
  • Community networking to partner with ministry for youth who transition out of agencies 
  • Develop and incorporate an aftercare strategy
  • Supervise and grow leadership of any staff or ministry leaders involved in the aftercare strategy
  • Be an advocate in the community for this population of young people to raise awareness of their needs
  • Regularly report progress and ministry updates to oversite

Working Relationships

Responsible directly to the Group Life Director.

Supervises volunteers.

Interacts with all F/M YFC staff and volunteers.

Compensation Package

$16.50-$17.50/hour. Hourly rate determined by a pay scale and Executive Director.

Paid trainings as assigned.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three years of ministry experience

Fundraising Responsibilities

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
