Position Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY: To serve as Office Manager at the YFC Chicago "Bourbonnais" office, manage phone and electronic communication and welcome incoming guests. Record donation information into SalesForce database, review and process incoming mail, make bank deposits, file documents, follow-up and other office support activities as requested.

SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

  • As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:
  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1.    Record all donation information into SalesForce.com and manage creation of mail/e-mail of receipts

2.    Manage bank deposits from incoming mail and all on-line donations

3.    Review, sort and disseminate all incoming mail to appropriate staff

4.    Help coordinate incoming cash and club account information, fund transfers.

5.    Assist in duties with marketing services (special letters to be sent to donors for gifts - memorial, material donations, end of year tax notices; and checking monthly mailings, press releases, etc. for spelling and grammar before they go out); get VIP letters signed from Rick and mailed

6.    Assist in support of special event activities as appropriate

7.    Enter all credit card and EFT/ACH information into the various online donation sites.

8.    Support Executive Director with appointment setting.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Experience: 

Individual should have a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Should be able to set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision and be able to understand and carryout oral and written directions. Must have the ability to maintain high degree of motivation to retain focus for our outreach to youth.

 

The individual should have minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience, steady work record, and must be able to perform each of the essential position functions. Must be comfortable with computers, phone interaction and personable to all staff, volunteers and support partners.

Ability to get around the community and office for various tasks.

  • The employee would normally lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lifts or moves up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands.
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
